Notes: L’onomatopeia de les castanyoles l’he treta, després de buscar “onomatopeia de les castanyoles” (en Google), en http://elmeupsicolabis.blogspot.com.es/2012/03/mots-dorigen-onomatopeic-psicolabis.html.

He triat traduir la frase “we can play on the big bass drum” per “podem tocar en el tambor” i no “amb el tambor”, per la manera en què apareix en el vídeo.

Podem cantar-la fent ús de distints instruments i reproduint les onomatopeies que representen els seus sons.

La Sabatilla Sabatella Vella botà del llit,

tragué el cap fora de la finestra

Notes: He decidit conservar el títol de cançó que podem vore en moltes entrades d’Internet, encara que en algunes la lletra incloga I bought me a cat, com també I fed… o, per exemple, the cat… / the hen / the duck… a diferència de la que figura baix del vídeo en què apareix Dany Rosevear, quan consultem YouTube.

En segon lloc la forma i fi que acompanya la frase final del gat correspon a la traducció de so que he fet a partir de la forma en anglés i-fee, forma que he triat separar de fiddle-i-fee ja que to fiddle és un verb i, per tant, una paraula que es pot traduir (en este cas, per passar el temps), a més que passar el temps s’ajusta molt bé a l’esperit lúdic de la cançó. En eixe sentit, afegiré que, segons em comunicà Dany Rosevear, en la cançó hi han paraules inventades en anglés, algunes de les quals he traduït directament amb la forma que, en valencià, representa el so de l’animal, en lloc de fer la traducció amb la transcripció del so més pròxima a la pronúncia de la paraula que es canta. Un exemple: the hen went chipsy, chopsy està com la gallina se n’anà coc-coc, coc-coc.

Afegiré que el llistat que he posat al final, corresponent a altres onomatopeies (i com apareixen en el vídeo) i que ací les llegim sense els versos, són per a indicar què farem quan arribarem, per exemple, a sheep (ovella), amb el so corresponent a l’onomatopeia o que, com en el cas de la dona (l’última paraula nova del llistat d’animals i persones que intervenen en la cançó), direm honey, honey (mel, mel). Em fa l’efecte que l’obra musical acaba amb un missatge implícit positiu, encara que no es cite directament: la mare, amb la mel, aconseguix que el xiquet deixe de plorar.
