Ja baixen les Tomasines

amb la mà al costat

dient-los a les fadrines:

— Mireu la rosa que porte en el cap.

The “Tomasines” are going down now,

with their hand nearby

and saying to the unmarried women:

— Look at the rose I am wearing in the lead.

 

Porte sabata en devilla,

la calça en ramells.

Visc la flor del sombrero,

corbata i xaleco i el gran saragüell.

I wear a shoe in buckle,

the stocking in bunches.

Up with flower of the hat,

the tie and the waistcoat and the large shorts.

 

En el retrate estic

amb les roses ben posades

amb la maneta al costat

i les calces ramejades.

I’m in the portrait

with the roses in their place,

with the hand nearby

and the flowered tights.

dient-los a les fadrines:

— Mireu la rosa que porte en el cap.

Nota: La paraula que figura com devilla és una deformació del castellà hebilla, en valencià sivella. I el terme xaleco apareix en lloc de jupetí, armilla (f.), giponet. Finalment, sombrero ho fa en lloc del valencià barret.

Quant a una nota que diu qui la canta, tenim que tots els elements de roba són els que portaven en la festa.
