Salpassa valenciana / Valencian “salpassa”

Salpasses de Glòria. Aquestes, a diferència de les salpasses que van els xiquets cantant la mort de Jesús, els escolans arreplegant i el rector beneint, sols van els xiquets cantant la ressurrecció i canten així:

“Salpasses”  (*) of Glory. In these “salpasses”, unlike the “Salpasses” with the kids singing the Jesus death, the choirboys gathering up and the priest blessing, the children only are singing the Resurrection like this:

(*) “Salpassa”: Salt and water song of Easter. There is no translation, at least, directly. “Salpasser” has some translations to English: aspergillum, sprinkler.

that Our Lord has made the Passion.

that Our Lord now is lively.

that Our Lord is resurrected.

I tots i totes ixen al carrer,  perquè ha arribat la primavera i és l’hora de volar el catxirulo i menjar la mona amb llonganissa. Carai!, quina fam m’ha entrat!

And all of them come out to the street because the spring has come, we will fly the kite and eat the “mona” (a Valencian typical Easter cake) with cold sausage (“llonganissa”, another Easter typical food)… Good heavens!, how hungry I am!
