que és una gran capital.

Tenim la font de la Roca

i la carretera Real.

Now Cervera is not Cervera,

because it is a great town.

We have the Rock fountain

and the Special road.

 

Ara portaran les llums,

tot lo món tindrà una pera,

i les bruixes fugiran

i faran cap a Traiguera.

Now they will put the lights,

everybody will have a bulb,

and the witches will flee

towards Traiguera.

 

Antes p‘a dur un cànter d’aigua,

pegaven moltes patades,

d’allà baix, d’enmig la rambla,

hasta el carrer de les Parres.

Before, if we wanted to carry a large water pitcher,

we had to walk many kicks

from the base, in the middle of the avenue,

to the Grapewines street.

 

Ara anirem a dur aigua

tenint la cassola al foc

i l’oli no es cremarà

perquè la font està a prop.

Now we will go to carry water

with the casserole on the stove

and the oil won’t get burnt

because the fountain is near. 

 

Moltes gràcies a l’alcalde

i al poble que l’ha ajudat,

que per portar l’aigua al poble,

molts bancals ha travessat.

Thanks you to the major

and the village that aided him,

thanks to the many terraces they crossed

for giving the water to the people.

 

Me despido de Cervera

i de l’alcalde major,

i de Manuel Forés,

que és fill de Benicarló.
